New Castle has been my home since the 4th grade. I graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in 2001. Even in high school I took an interest in politics with being student president. After graduation and September 11th, I joined the United States Navy early in 2002. After the Navy I came back to New Castle and married my wife of 16 years. I have three sons and a daughter, and I am all about family.
Community is important.
In 2013 I founded New Castle Community in Action. The main goals were to create events to raise money to help people in need and charitable organizations in our local communities. Our main event was the Rock the Arts Park Music Festival a 2-day event with 50+ bands/artists of mixed genres from all over the Midwest.
Continuing important community pages.
When the NCCIA and Rock the Arts Park Music Festival ended in 2015, I decided there was a need to continue our community pages because it helped people in different ways.
Those pages are:
Henry County Jobs, Henry County Homes, Henry County Events, Local Henry County, and Volunteer Henry County.
Coaching
2022 I started coaching middle school bowling. We had 4 advance onto semi state and 2 to state. In 2023 I coached middle school and New Castle High School bowling team. I have been bowling since I was 8 and it gave me a chance to help kids succeed.
Filmmaking
In 2016, I went after my dream. I received a contract by mail to film "The Man Who Loved Flowers" from Stephen King. At that time, I thought it would be the only thing I would ever film. I was content at the time with that I got to live my dream. Yet, it jump started myself and my company 5 After 5 Studios.
Since 2016, I have filmed 14 films and 2 web series, filmed at one of the biggest rock festivals the Blue Ridge Rock Festival, I filmed the Henry County Commercials, the HGTV Hometown Takeover Pitch for New Castle, Henry County Bicentennial videos, and many videos for companies and organizations.
Education
I have always believed in continued education and bettering oneself. Like above I went to school here in New Castle, I went to Parker Elementary, one of last classes at the 7th grade building, Parkview Junior High School and then New Castle Chrysler High School. When they both had those name designations.
In the Navy, I trained with Navy Seals in Aircrew Search and Rescue and then went to Aviation Electrician in Pensacola, FL and F/A-18 school in Lemoore, CA. I took a few college classes while in the Navy at Chapman University.
When I got out of the Navy I was certified as an EMT. Then went to Indiana University for Politics and Business before transferring to Harrison College for Business.
Once Harrison College closed and while going after my dream of film and while everything was closed for COVID. I decided to get my degree in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University. I received my bachelors in 2 years this past March.
Family
My wife and I got married in 2006. Our boys Braxton (18) and Memphis (16) both attend New Castle High School. My son Trevor (13) attends New Castle Middle School and my daughter Imogen (10) attends Eastwood.
My wife received her degree in Early Childhood Education from Ivy Tech and is the In School Suspension instructor at New Castle High School. She wanted a position that she could help people, this allows her to help students get back on track. Pushing them to strive to be better in getting their homework caught up and a listener to students' problems.
